Lakeview Dawn Until Dusk have been carrying on with their Forest School activities each week. They recently made Bug houses and had great fun creating Mud Faces!
The children used freshly cut elder wood to create their own Bug houses. They each used their fine motor skills to peel back the bark of each piece of wood using a vegetable peeler, then using tent pegs they hollowed out the pith. They were required to really concentrate for long periods of time for this activity. They all really enjoyed it and were very pleased with their beautiful bug houses.
Last week the children enjoyed some mud play! The children mixed mud and water to make the mud more easy to manipulate they then moulded the mud into face shapes. Some of the children collected flowers or twigs to decorate their faces. We had leaves being used as ears and twigs as mouths. It was a great activity, thoroughly enjoyed!
