At Thomas Johnson last week the children were able to enjoy some fun in the sun. They spent their time enjoying the outside and although it was a bit chilly the sun was shining so the children got bundled up and took some games outside in the fresh air.
The children played games including hurdles and ball games. The hurdles were set up in the playground as a course and the children took it in turns to have a go at leaping over and seeing if they could clear them all. All the children had lots of fun and it was great for them to be able to get out and enjoy some fresh air and exercise.
Thomas Johnson also had a cookery theme night where the children made some rather scrummy looking chocolate bananas. Each child was given a banana which they covered in melted chocolate and then decorated a choice of sprinkles and treats. The finished bananas look very tasty and they went down a storm with the children!
To bring their busy week to an end the children enjoyed an African Drum theme night. They had fun playing with all the different types of drums and shakers and making their own music. The children took all the instruments into the hall where they sat together and all took it in turns to see what noises each instrument made. This session was very popular and they all had lots of fun finding out all the noises they could create and seeing what happened when they played all the instruments together.
